Man Buys $540 Worth Of Girl Scout Cookies So The Girls Could Go Home

A troop of Girls Scouts was selling cookies outside of a South Carolina supermarket last Friday (February 22nd) when a man left the store and bought seven packs of cookies from the girls. He handed them $40 and told them to keep the change before walking away.

A few minutes later, the man returned and told the girls "pack up all of your cookies. I'm taking them all so y'all can get out of this cold." The girls packed up their remaining boxes and calculated the total to be an additional $500, the troop's "cookie manager", Kayla Dillard, explained in a viral Facebook post.

“What an amazing soul. It was about 34 degrees outside that night, and we were there for about two hours already before he came,” Dillard told CNN.

The man purchased so many boxes that the girls had to cancel their plans to sell cookies at other locations over the weekend. Dillard told CBS News that the man said he owned several businesses in the area and planned to share the cookies with his employees.

"That man was just a very kind, sincere and humble man who loves children," Dillard said.
