Valentine's Day is a popular time to get engaged or get married. The COVID-19 pandemic has pushed back or altered some people's plans, but loosening restrictions and vaccine rollouts may allow people to start planning again.
Even without restrictions to think about, weddings in general are expensive. The average couple shells out over $38,000 for their big day between invitations, professional planning, reservations, food and other details. Where you host your wedding can be factor into costs, too.
WalletHub looked at over 180 cities to see which areas in America are easier or harder on the wallet before couples tie the knot. They looked at venue costs, available event spaces, number of event planners and more.
Two Oregon cities made it on the list, and one of them are in the Top 10! Portland came in the No. 4 spot, making it one of the best destinations to host a wedding, according to the website. Researchers also gave it kudos for being one of the safest cities during the pandemic.
The other featured city was Salem, which ranked rather high, as well: No. 23.
