In a delightfully briny twist, Dillon T. Pickle, the beloved mascot of the Portland Pickles baseball team, will be the Grand Marshal of the 2025 CareOregon Starlight Parade. The parade will illuminate downtown Portland on Saturday, May 31, from 8:15 PM to 10:15 PM, as part of the Portland Rose Festival's cherished traditions.
Known for his larger-than-life personality and unwavering community spirit, Dillon has become a staple of Portland's summer festivities. From energizing crowds at Walker Stadium to engaging fans on social media, Dillon embodies the quirky and inclusive spirit that defines the city.
“Dillon has always been more than just a mascot; he's a symbol of community and joy,” said Ross Campbell, VP of Business Development for the Portland Pickles. “Being named Grand Marshal of the CareOregon Starlight Parade is a testament to his impact on Portland's cultural landscape.”
The CareOregon Starlight Parade is renowned for its electrifying floats, marching bands, and illuminated performances that celebrate Portland's diverse communities. This year's parade will feature approximately 100 illuminated entries, drawing hundreds of thousands of spectators to downtown Portland.
CareOregon, the parade's title sponsor, will showcase a vibrant float titled “Celebrating Cultures, Building Health Equity,” featuring a hand-built, brightly colored alebrijes llama to honor Latin American heritage.
Dillon's role as Grand Marshal underscores the Portland Pickles' commitment to community engagement and the city's unique flair. Fans are encouraged to attend the parade and cheer on Dillon as he leads the procession through the heart of Portland.
