Oregon needs more EV charging stations

Environment Oregon Research and Policy Center has released a new report called “Plugging In: Readying America’s Cities for the Arrival of Electric Vehicles.”

The report includes a first-of-its-kind policy analysis of best practices for using electric cars in the U.S. and internationally.

The report was released at a news conference at Go Forth Electric Showcase today to create strategies on how to prepare Americans for more electric vehicles.

Go Forth hopes the report will help make the electric vehicle transition as smooth as possible.

Local officials are predicting a growing need for more charging stations in Portland and its surrounding areas.

41,000 electric cars are expected on the streets of Portland by 2030. Hundreds or even thousands of new charging stations will be needed to meet that demand.
