Olympia’s Symphony Orchestra wasn't about to let extreme heat put a damper on a community showcase that's been in the planning for several months.
The OSO played a free show on the Washington State Capitol grounds, on Sunday. The complimentary showcase highlighted the Orchestra's diverse repertoire.
Sponsors happily donated thousands of bottles of water for attendees and a cooling station was set up. Unfortunately, orchestra members had to endure the summer heat, at full blast, in the name of art.
Fans and water misters don't work so well with sheet music and priceless musical instruments.
Why was July 29th picked months ago for this free show? Statistically, it's the least likely Sunday for rain.
