Oregon Revenue Decline

Oregon legislators have nearly half-a-billion dollars less to spend than they expected earlier this year.

The latest economic forecast for the state shows tariffs and a declining economy are already reducing money that's being received by the state.

Governor Tina Kotek says that means legislators will have to prioritize spending. Republicans say they need to focus on core programs and not add expenses.

There is expected to be a kicker refund of about $1.6 billion. That'll be finalized this fall.
